We wish all our readers a Happy 2017 in this, our first newsletter of 2017.  We are pleased to share with you a number of milestones, introduce you to some new people joining our staff in Maastricht, and invite you to take part in our events and programs. 2017 started on a high note as we received a warm commendation from AMBA at their 50th Anniversary Gala and Golden Awards Ceremony in London: for the second time, we were a finalist for the AMBA Innovation Award. We also received the confirmation from the IACBE that our programs have successfully been re-accredited.  IACBE’s commended MSM for its highly qualified and diverse faculty body. Then, we got news from Eduniversal that MSM continues to climb in their rankings of business schools. These milestones are the outcomes of our committed people to provide a high-quality, relevant education and moreover to lead in the innovation of lifelong learning.

At the 50th Anniversary Golden Awards and Gala Dinner of the Association of MBAs, held in the Savoy in London on 20 January 2017, and attended by around 250 guests from all around the world, a special honor befell Maastricht School of Management (MSM).

We would like to inform you about the upcoming Netherlands Fellowship Program (NFP) and Middle East and North Africa (MENA) Scholarship Programs (MSP) scholarship deadline. The upcoming deadline for fifteen of MSM's programs is 17 March 2017.
The application window opens on 2 February 2017.

Empowering women in Nepal

In 2009 Maria Fernanda Palacios from Ecuador followed the MSM executive course Sustainable Tourism, where she met Dicky Chhetri from Nepal. Dicky and her sisters Lucky and Nicky Chhetri are pioneers in the field of female trekking guides.

Maastricht School of Management and Jimma University, Ethiopia recently signed a cooperation agreement to jointly offer an Executive MBA in Agribusiness in Ethiopia.

MSM Assistant Professor in Governance and Human Rights Nora Stel presented a paper at the recent conference on Resistance(s) Between Theory and the Field, organized by the Université Libre de Bruxelles and held in Brussels in December.
