Introduction
In the last newsletter just before the summer holidays, we would like to share the many highlights we enjoyed at MSM in the past weeks. The first update being a change in leadership. As the newly appointed Director ad interim of Maastricht School of Management (MSM), I am honoured to take on this role and to continue contributing to MSM’s mission. MSM has a strong legacy in global business education and management development, and I look forward to building on this foundation together with our dedicated management team, staff, and global partners. We thank Mr. Meinhard Gans for his outstanding leadership and contributions to MSM and wish him all the best in his retirement.
This edition of our newsletter reflects the breadth and depth of MSM’s work—locally and globally. I’m proud to share that MSM’s open executive programmes, as part of Maastricht University School of Business and Economics (SBE), have again been recognised in the Financial Times Executive Education Ranking. Our commitment to responsible leadership has also been reaffirmed through our position in CEO Magazine’s 2025 Green MBA Rankings.
We continue to be inspired by the work of our students and faculty. The 2025 MSM SDG-Challenge saw students tackle real sustainability issues with creativity and drive. Meanwhile, our Corporate Week 2025 once again offered a valuable platform for students to connect with companies, alumni, and industry leaders.
This season also saw strong international collaboration, including the visit of two cohorts from our Executive MBA programme with Nanjing University, and ongoing research excellence, such as the recent publication by Dr. Pascale Hardy in the European Management Review. We’re also looking ahead, with the MOBILISE feasibility study in Ethiopia exploring how MSM can support local workforce development in the horticulture sector.
Together, these stories illustrate MSM’s ongoing commitment to impactful education, international partnerships, and sustainable development. I look forward to continuing this important work with all of you.
Warm regards,
Prof. Dr. Diederik de Boer
Director ad interim
