Introduction
As we wrap up 2025, we look back on a remarkable year at Maastricht School of Management. From advancing global education to deepening our impact across continents, this year has truly embodied our commitment to sustainable development, capacity-building and international collaboration.
We are proud to highlight several significant milestones: our new EREVETS initiative in Sierra Leone, which will strengthen vocational training for the country’s renewable-energy transition. In Indonesia, the launch of the SIGAP project marks our effort to support sustainable food-security governance in North Sumatra. At the same time, MSM’s participation in the 7th African Union-European Union Summit in Angola reaffirmed our role in global efforts to align education, skills development and sustainable business across Europe and Africa. On top of that, the recognition of Maastricht University, including MSM’s MBA programmes, as #3 worldwide and #1 in Europe in the 2025 Better World MBA Ranking underscored our ongoing dedication to responsible management education.
Looking ahead, we are excited about the upcoming Green Economy Academic Conference scheduled for May 2026, a platform where scholars and practitioners will explore how business, economics and sustainability can shape our shared future. The submission deadline for the Call for Papers is 4 January 2026. We are also excited for the variety of events for our residential degree programme students coming up in 2026, such as our student SDG challenge.
With the recruitment for our residential programmes now open and in full swing, we are being visible through fairs, webinars, and blog posts about our programmes and lecturers. You can rewatch the webinars on our Youtube channel, and look at some of the blog posts in this newsletter as well.
As the year ends, we extend our warmest wishes to everyone in the MSM community: students, alumni, staff, partners, and friends. May the holidays bring you rest and joy, and may 2026 greet you with new opportunities, inspiring collaborations, and continued impact.
Warm regards,
Dr. Diederik de Boer
Director ad interim
