Entrepreneurship and Economic Development: new book and working paper

A new Oxford University Press book entitled “International Development: Ideas, Experience and Prospects” features a chapter on “Entrepreneurship and Economic Development” by MSM Dean-Director Professor Wim Naudé. The chapter is drawn from a paper which ranks among the Top 10 monthly downloads of the IZA Discussion Paper Series of the Institute for the Study of Labor in Bonn, Germany.

According to Naudé, “Entrepreneurship is… a valid and important subject of study for development scholars, and development is a worthwhile subject of study for entrepreneurship and management scholars.”

The growing availability of more and better data from emerging and developing economies, the increasing adoption of rigorous evaluation methods in policy assessments, and likelihood and desirability of closer collaboration across disciplines, are all boding well for the intersection of development and entrepreneurship.
