The MaastrichtMBA: off to a flying start!
The MaastrichtMBA: A unique Master of Business Administration (MBA) experience in the heart of Maastricht brought to you by the Maastricht School of Management (MSM) and the Maastricht University School of Business and Economics (SBE).
On 15 September 2014 the full-time format of the MaastrichtMBA kicked off at the Maastricht School of Management with Dean of MSM, Professor Wim Naudé and Associate Dean, and Director of Postgraduate Education at Maastricht University School of Business and Economics, Professor Mariëlle Heijltjes, welcoming 34 new MBA participants into the program.
Launching the program by sharing a few facts and figures about MSM, also available as interactive set of Infographics, and premiering with a short new video which summarize in 3 minutes the essence of the MSM experience, Professor Naudé emphasized the importance for MSM of cultivating and celebrating diversity in the program, and in continually promoting its quality. “This is probably the most international full-time MBA program in The Netherlands”, said Naudé, mentioning that the current intake has no less than 23 nationalities represented, “from Albania to Zimbabwe”.
The MaastrichtMBA offers an exciting new integrated program design with options for both part-time and full-time study, and options to specialize in various exciting management fields. To offer this, SBE and MSM are pooling their resources to offer a full-time, residential degree (MSM) and a part-time, executive degree (SBE). Both follow a similar 70 ECTS curriculum. This integrated program will offer participants a unique opportunity to develop their personal capabilities and effectiveness to lead themselves and their organizations for success in a global, multicultural world. Students in the full-time, residential and part-time, executive formats of the program will collaborate and take certain courses together. Upon successful completion of these common components and stages of the program they will in addition to their respective MBA degrees, also earn a Joint Postgraduate Certificate in Global Management co-signed by both institutions.
The launch of the MaastrichtMBA marks a historic moment in the collaboration between MSM and the University of Maastricht, a collaboration that is set to deepen in the coming year.
