New partnership in Poland

The University of Economy (UoE) in Bygoszcz, Poland, signed a partnership agreement with Maastricht School of Management (MSM) on 9 October 2014.

The Master of Business Administration program at UoE is the first program in the region of Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship in Poland that will be delivered entirely in English. The MBA graduates will gain not only a prestigious degree, but above all a profound knowledge of management.

The agreement was signed in the presence of the regional Governor Ewa Mes and the Mayor of Bydgoszcz Rafał Bruski, who both congratulated the two higher education institutions and wished them a fruitful collaboration. The Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Paul Bekkers attended the signing ceremony as well.The University of Economy was represented by President Krzysztof Sikora, rector Prof. Wieslaw Olszewski, CEO Malgorzata Szymanska-Sikora, Chancellor Philip Sikora and Marzena Bogdanowicz, Director of Centre for Postgraduate Education and Training.

“Bydgoszcz and Maastricht are like twin cities, boasting a rich history and crossed by a large river", said Prof. Naudé at the ceremony. After five years of working together in different academic levels, the two institutes are ready to start a closer cooperation. Prof. Naudé added that he hoped that this collaboration would not be limited to the MBA program.

“This is an important step in the internationalization of the university,” agreed Łukasz Jasiński, Director of International Affairs Office at UoE. “It will allow us to open to international educational markets.”-

The University of Economy is the largest non-state institution of higher education established in Poland on 17 March 1999 in accordance with a directive issued by the Ministry of National Education. The university’s main campus is located in the Bydgoszcz-Toruń metropolitan area. It offers more than 20 BA and MA study programs, and over 50 specializations. The mission of the university is to shape individuals capable of creative and critical thinking, who will strive for the continuous development of knowledge and professional skills in order to meet the standards of an educated society.
