MSM alumna new marketing manager at General Motors Peru

Cecilia Riva Zaferson has been appointed as the new Marketing Manager of General Motors in Peru, as part of the firm’s strategic plans for 2015. Prior to joining GM, Cecilia accumulated 14 years of experience in the field of marketing and sales, working for major companies in consumer products and electronics as well as in the pharmaceutical and automotive industries.

Cecilia graduated in 2007 from the joint MBA program offered by MSM and CENTRUM Católica in Peru. “The MSM/CENTRUM MBA program has been a very important and enriching experience for my professional life,” she says. “It allowed me to interact with very good teachers who knew how to integrate academic content with practical experience.”

Cecilia explains why she chose the MSM/CENTRUM MBA back in 2005: “At that time I was looking for an MBA that would give me two things: the possibility to learn from qualified teachers with world experience combined with management knowledge. The MSM/CENTRUM program provided that.”

The MSM/CENTRUM MBA helped Cecilia in her career: “Being able to share knowledge and experience within a complete different cultural environment from my own, with highly qualified teachers with global experience was by far one of the most important stages in my professional life. I would definitely recommend this experience at MSM. The MBA program taught me how to think and act more strategically and it opened doors to world-wide corporations.”

After spending eight years in the automotive industry, Cecilia is ready to take up her new challenge at GM. Her aim is to contribute to the growth of the flagship brands Chevrolet and Isuzu. “I feel highly motivated because we are talking about very prestigious brands with a rich history. I want to transfer all the experience I have gained to propose new solutions and help to bring the Chevrolet and Isuzu brands much closer to the Peruvian consumer,” she says.

MSM wishes Cecilia the best of luck with this new and exciting challenge.
