Develop your project management skills at MSM

The Project Management program at MSM enables participants to develop the skills, knowledge and essential techniques for successful, cost-effective management of both large- and small-scale projects. One of last year’s PM participants, Mr. Aleksandar Stankovski, explains how the Project Management program helped him in his current day-to-day activities at work.

This course has meant a great deal for my professional advancement in several ways. First of all, PM news item_2015_2now into my 11th year as Head of Operations in a privately held holding group of companies in Macedonia, the skills and knowledge acquired came at the right time as our group is undergoing a major expansion and transition from a loose to a more structured entrepreneurial approach to work. I was able to apply hands-on many ‘hard’ skills learned at MSM in my day-to-day work and in particular in: planning and launching new products into the market, implement a better control of overall company performance and a milestone reporting of results. The results so far are more than satisfactory: thanks to a now more efficient planning and controlling process established in a project management environment, we are able to do the same or even more in a given work package with fewer resources”.

Besides the improvements that he was able to immediately implement at work, Mr. Stankovski also developed his personal skills. “The course expanded my interests in the sphere of development. A central piece of the learning process concentrates on methodologies used in development projects such as Project Cycle Management. Thanks to the important input from our professors, who were mostly internationally recognized experts in their fields, I was able to expand and apply new skills and competencies in my voluntary work as an online proposal writer for Today’s Afghanistan Conciliation Trust (TACT), a Kabul based NGO”.

Mr. Stankovski reaped further benefits from the Project Management course. Following up on a suggestion from one professor he became member of the Project Management Institute of the USA. “The Project Management program at MSM was the best preparation to become part of this international project management network,” he said.

The MSM Project Management course trains participants in all phases of the project life-cycle and prepares them for a wide variety of project-management-related careers worldwide. During the course, you will enhance your personal management skills during interactive workshops to successfully lead and manage cross-functional teams. Moreover, you will work on your own individual project action plan which you can immediately implement at work. You will also benefit from sharing project experiences with colleagues and practitioners from across the globe.

Please note that the MSM application deadline for private sponsorship candidates is 1 August 2015 for the Project Management program! The course will take place from 14 September – 4 December 2015. Click here for more information and to apply.
