MSM hosts the IACBE Conference on Global Education & Academic Partnerships: Register now!

Maastricht School of Management (MSM) is pleased to announce the IACBE International Conference and European Regional Assembly Meeting. The conference is titled Global Education and Partnerships and it is taking place at MSM on 22-23 October 2015.

MSM received specialized accreditation for its business programs through the International Assembly for Collegiate Business Education (IACBE) since 2001. MSM has been very much involved with IACBE in the past years, and is excited to bring the conference to Maastricht for the second time. MSM’s Associate Dean Mrs. Katalin Kovacs is the past-chair and current member of the Board of Commissioners, serving her second term.

During the two-day conference scholars, educators and professionals from prestigious higher education institutes in business and management will join in the beautiful city of Maastricht to discuss best practices, trends and new developments in higher education.

On the first day of the conference participants will be welcomed by Mr. Dennis Gash, President of IACBE. Prof. Wim Naudé, Dean of Maastricht School of Management, will deliver his Keynote Address ‘‘Making Global Partnerships Work. Recipes for success in Global Alliances in the Business School World’’. Participants will have further opportunity to discuss a wide range of topics during the following presentations: Global Programs, Businesses & Higher Education, Intercultural Understanding, Assessment, Case Studies and the Role of Technology. Breaks between presentations will allow participants to expand their international networks.

On the second day participants can choose between two workshops: Developing a Comprehensive Outcomes Assessment Plan or Site-Visit Peer Reviewer Training.

The workshop Developing a Comprehensive Outcomes Assessment Plan focuses on how to design an assessment plan that meets IACBE’s expectations for assessing student learning in your business programs and the operational effectiveness of your academic business unit. The workshop discusses the definition and purposes of outcomes assessment; describes the key points to keep in mind when preparing an assessment plan; identifies measurement instruments that can be used to assess both intended student learning outcomes and intended operational outcomes; and explains the use of outcomes assessment in measuring and advancing academic quality in your business programs.

The workshop Site-Visit Peer Reviewer will teach participants how to evaluate self-studies effectively and how to conduct productive and efficient site visits. At the end of the day, participants will have completed all the requirements necessary to be assigned to a site-visit team. As the IACBE grows both domestically and worldwide, competent, knowledgeable site-visit evaluators become increasingly essential.
