MBA in Healthcare Management: new MSM-UM cooperation

Maastricht School of Management and the Faculty of Health, Medicine and Life Sciences (FHML) of the Maastricht University (UM) have concluded a co-operation agreement to collaborate on offering an Executive MBA in Healthcare Management.

The Executive MBA in Healthcare Management will be offered in Nanjing, China, in partnership with MSM’s long-standing partner, Nanjing University Business School, and will lead to an internationally accredited MSM MBA.

The co-operation agreement allows for the FHML to play a role in the shaping of and teaching of key subjects in the healthcare management specialization phase, in the following areas: Decision Making Methods in Healthcare, Cost Management and Finance of Healthcare Organizations, Patient-Centred Care, Safety, Quality and Risk Management, Strategic Planning and Marketing in Healthcare.

MSM’s Dean will formally launch this new Executive MBA during a visit to China in November 2015. During this two-year program, participants will also bring a study visit to Maastricht, during which they will be given the opportunity to also network with peers at the FHML, Brightlands Maastricht Health Campus and broader business community in the Netherlands. MSM already co-operates closely with the Brightlands Maastricht Health Campus.

The FHML is one of the largest faculties of Maastricht University with almost 5,000 students. Its six Schools, offering bachelors, masters and PhD programs are the School for Cardiovascular Diseases; School for Oncology and Developmental Biology; School for Mental Health and Neurosciences; School of Nutrition and Translational Research in Metabolism; School for Public Health and Primary Care and School for Health Education.

Maastricht School of Management (MSM) also offers an Executive MBA with a specialization in Healthcare Management in Maastricht starting in January 2016.
