European-Azerbaijan Business Forum: MSM-ADA partnership showcased

At the recent European-Azerbaijan Business Forum that was held in Brussels on 14 October 2015 the partnership between Maastricht School of Management and ADA University in Baku was showcased as an example of successful European-Azerbaijan co-operation as well as a resource that can provide support for current and future investors in Azerbaijan.

Addressing the Forum of more than 100 delegates, MSM Dean Professor Wim Naudé described the establishment of the first internationally accredited Executive MBA program in Azerbaijan. “The first discussions started end of 2012; by September 2013 the collaboration with ADA started with the first intake, and in September 2015 the first cohort successfully graduated”.

MSM and ADA University are currently working on expanding its co-operation and is also offering support services to companies that wish to invest in Azerbaijan. In April 2014 MSM lead a successful business-to-business mission from the Netherlands to Azerbaijan, and in April 2015 followed this up by an Azerbaijan-Netherlands Summit in Maastricht. “We can also provide tailor-made training, research and development, consultancy and networking services to interested companies” said Naudé, stressing that development of human capital and getting sound competitive intelligence are prerequisites for business success in emerging markets such as Azerbaijan.
