MSM and RWTH Aachen University welcome new students in Management and Engineering

Maastricht School of Management (MSM) and RWTH Aachen University welcomed the new students of the MSc programs in Management and Engineering  during two official Welcome Ceremonies, held in Aachen and in Maastricht. Besides the third MSc cohort in Management and Engineering in Production Systems MSM and RWTH also welcomed the first students of the MSc program in Management and Engineering in Electrical Power Systems.

The first year of the program takes place in Aachen, where the students follow the engineering courses. In the second year the students travel to Maastricht and take their management courses at MSM.

On 1 October 2015 the new students were welcomed at RWTH Aachen University in Aachen. Speaking to the students on MSM’s behalf, Oliver Olson, Director Global Education Programs  highlighted the international character of the School and stressed that studying in the MSc programs would give them a huge benefit in their lives. “You can build a network of engineers throughout the world,” he told the students, pointing out that 20 nationalities were represented in their midst.

On 9 October 2015 the students of both programs visited MSM. Before the official start of theWelcome MME 1welcome ceremony the MME students enjoyed a lunch in the MSM Business Lounge. After the lunch the group was officially welcomed by Mr. Jeroen van Wijk, Academic Coordinator MSc programs. Mr. van Wijk gave the students a short introduction of the school’s history and mission and was followed by two MME students from the first cohort who gave the students valuable tips about time management, the structure of the courses at MSM and the content of the courses. After the introduction the students were given a tour of the MSM building. Their afternoon ended with a city tour of Maastricht.

Besides these two programs MSM and RWTH Aachen University also offer a third joint program, MSc in Management and Engineering in Computer Aided Mechanical Engineering, which will start in October 2016. And soon MSM and RWTH will also start promoting the MSc in Management and Engineering in Water Resources.
