e-Government at MSM: harnessing technology for better governance

This year’s e-Government Executive Education program received 15 participants from across the world in Maastricht. The program instills an understanding of the organizational, management, and policy demand of effective e-Government.

During the three-week program the participants paid a work visit to the Municipality Maastricht. This included a presentation by Mr. Enno Soeren, Director of the Shared Services Center, on the ways that Maastricht has adopted much of topics discussed during the e-Government Executive Program. After an interesting discussion, a tour of the old and new premises followed. The group also attended a demonstration of the Municipality’s flexible paperless organization.

Participants worked intensively and with enthusiasm on the integrating assignment, in which the lessons learned from the lectures, workshops and real-life cases were incorporated.  This resulted in a presentation of e-Government related policy proposals for seven organizations by the participants.

Please know that the application deadline for e-Government running in 2016, 15-26 February 2016, is 1 January 2016. Click here for more information about the program and to apply!
