MSM congratulates winners of Maastricht Awards

Pursuing an MBA is not only about management thinking and case studies. Our strong links to the business community give our students – who come from all over the world – exposure to the best companies and organizations in the region, who best exemplify successful (global) business and management.

In our programs and activities, we let our students familiarize with the Dutch way of working and doing business, and we give local entrepreneurs and managers the opportunity to get personally acquainted with our students and thus with foreign business cultures and expertise. Our mentorship program in which MBA students are linked one-on-one to a local entrepreneur / manager and exchange experiences together, and the MBA business colloquium (guest lectures with representatives of the business community on a subject directly linked to the MBA course topic so that theory is directly linked to practice), are just some examples of the links between the local business community and our international student cohort.

This is why we are delighted to be a partner of the Maastricht Awards; an initiative of entrepreneurs involved in Maastricht, the Maastricht municipality, Centre Management Maastricht, Tourist office / Maastricht Marketing and Gastvrij Maastricht. The Maastricht Awards are the annual price for entrepreneurs in Maastricht.

The winners of het Maastricht Awards were announced during a festive evening last week. There were three different prices:

  • 3D By Flow won the award for the best start-up company. This innovative company, started in May 2014, is specialized in 3D printing technology and develops and manufactures 3D printers. The company is also doing research for new print materials. 3D By Flow gives presentations, training sessions and demos all over the world.
  • The award for the most hospitable business in the hospitality industry went to Café Local. The café is based on local products and is a place where both Maastricht natives and international guests feel “local”.
  • De Bisschopsmolen captured the “Made in Maastricht” award for the best entrepreneur or company who undertakes, creates and/or produces in Maastricht. De Bisschopsmolen is a bakery who uses natural products only. In their seventh century mill, they make irresistible bread and “vlaai” (traditional local cake). Simplicity and going back to the essence of food are their success factors.

Also, the Rabobank Lifetime Achievement Award was awarded to the entrepreneur who has been of great significance for the economic development and (international) reputation of the city of Maastricht. This award went to MediReva, a medical specialist that ensures the supply of medical devices and nursing materials throughout the Netherlands.

We warmly congratulate the winners on the honor of winning the coveted trophies.
