Strengthening technical education in Tanzania

MSM in collaboration with NACTE (National Accreditation Council for Technical Education in Tanzania) organized a final conference on Quality Assurance Monitoring and Labor Market Linkages in Technical Education and in Training, in Dar es Salaam on 28 and 29 April. The conference marked the end of a four year project implemented by MSM on “Improving the Labor Market Responsiveness of Technical Education in Tanzania”.

The project focused on competence based learning and on the introduction of a new quality assurance system addressing amongst others self-assessments. At the conference, newly developed quality assurance handbooks were presented and the first experiences on self-assessment as well as the use of these handbooks were discussed.

A total of about 250 participants from the various technical institutions in Tanzania joined the conference. Among others keynotes were provided by the Deputy Minister of Education of Tanzania, by Mr. Tom Vroeijenstijn, MSM consultant on Quality Assurance, and by the Executive Director of the Association of Tanzanian employers.

In November MSM organizes an Executive Program on University Labor Market LInkages, focusing on enhancing the relevance of higher education. The program is open for application now, deadline is 3 October 2016. To see all Executive Programs MSM offers on Higher and Vocational Education, click here.
