MSM explores healthcare management with Chinese delegation

MSM Dean Professor Wim Naudé and Associate Dean Amy Wang met with a delegation of healthcare professionals and industry leaders from China, who visited Maastricht recently. The delegation consisted of 6 representatives from Hospitals in the Sichuan Province and 8 representatives from Life Science and Health companies in Chengdu. The delegation included the Director General of Health and Family Planning Commission of Sichuan Province and the Chairman of the Health service-related chambers of commerce.

Meeting with the group at the Brightlands Maastricht Health Campus, Professor Naudé provided an overview of MSM’s Healthcare Management programs and stressed the importance of management skills in contributing to better health outcomes by improving both innovations for healthcare but also implementation of more cost-effective solutions.

He also informed the delegation of MSM’s Sports Management programs that is offered in partnership with the local sport industry, wherein the role of sport and health, health medicine, and sport nutrition are getting increasing attention.

The delegation was particularly interested to learn about MSM’s successful Executive MBA program in Nanjing, which was launched in October 2015 in partnership with Nanjing University Business School, one of the highest ranked business schools in China.

Further discussions are planned with the chambers of commerce to further collaboration.
