Florence Nalukusa from Uganda participated in the Project Identification, Design and Management (PDM) course in January 2016. Back home she immediately implemented her knowledge and skills for the benefit of her organization Future Focus Uganda.

During the course Florence identified the project “Addressing Challenges to Youth Sexual Reproductive Health Needs and Rights in Rural Uganda” and this project has been implemented.

She organized a five-days residential youth camp in May with participants from different PDM 2 schools in Uganda. This camp brought her organization Future Focus Uganda a step higher. “It highly increased the visibility of the organization resulting in sponsorships to organize another camp in the December holiday period” Florence explains, “since the camp the organization established new partnerships with different organizations, among others with Save The Children”.

The New Vision, Uganda’s national daily newspaper featured an article about the event in its issue of 25 May 2016 and as the initiator and organizer of the youth camp, Florence was interviewed for this article.

Because of this great success of the camp, and the achieved sponsorships and partnerships, Future Focus Uganda has now decided to organize two camps every year.

The success of the camp contributed to the fact that she now has been promoted to the position of Programs Manager of Future Focus Uganda. “The position of Programs Manager is a new function in my organization and I would like to stress that my performance after completing the PDM 2016 course at MSM was one of the main reasons I was appointed for this job”, Florence states.

The MSM PDM course is divided in two one-week modules: Project Design Tools and Project Monitoring Tools. The next intake of these programs will be in January 2017, application is already open and you can apply through the online application form on the MSM website.

In September 2016 MSM offers the Project Finance and the Project Management courses. Application is still open until 1 August 2016, soapply now to make sure you can participate in one of these or both programs.
