Nanjing University Business School visits Maastricht

Maastricht School of Management and the Nanjing University Business School have been closely co-operating for 18 years. The two schools offer two top-ranked Master of Business Administration (MBA) programs: an Executive MBA with specializations in Healthcare Management and in International Business Innovation Management and an International MBA.

In the first week of September MSM welcomed the Dean of Nanjing University Business School in Maastricht. The Dean, Professor Shen Kunrong, was accompanied by Professor Sarah Zhang, Head of the Sino-Dutch International Business Centre (SDIBC) at Nanjing University, and senior managers.

The purpose of the visit was to accompany a group of students from China on a study visit to MSM, and to attend the MSM Graduation and the 6th Annual Research Conference, which took place on 8 – 9 September. More than 20 students from MSM’s program at Nanjing University received their degrees, and Professor Kunrong gave a paper at the Annual Research Conference on the “Rise of Eurasia”.

The delegation from Nanjing also discussed extending the current co-operation between MSM and Nanjing, for instance to expand study visits for Chinese management students to the Netherlands, to add further specializations to the MBA program (e.g. in Sports Management) and to explore the modalities for a joint DBA program.

The two institutions launched a very successful Executive MBA in Healthcare Management in 2015, the first of its kind in China.

The two institutions will also collaborate to organize an international management conference in China in June 2017, on “Multinational Business Management”. This conference will be sponsored by among others the Johnson Graduate School of Management at Cornell University in the USA and the Peter F. Drucker and Masatoshi Ito Graduate School of Management,  Claremont Graduate University in the USA.
