The RMS training program offers a unique program to develop your academic skills and a scientific mindset and to facilitate the kick-starting of research activities of doctoral candidates, (junior) faculty and decision-makers in government departments, private business firms, NGOs and international development organizations. The program is designed in such a way that each participant can directly apply the gained insights and knowledge to his/her own research work.

Mr. Ziad Abdi also said that: “The value of world class professors who are always ready to help solve your managerial problems combined with the approach of the lessons is globally unique. The skills I learned from MSM will help me to solve my countries food security problems and academically will lead me to pursue my Ph.D. at MSM in the near future”.

Mr. Sultan Sabr was grateful to have participated in the RMS program at MSM. “This 3-month program is very comprehensive and intensive, and it provides participants with all the skills and tools needed for a doctoral degree or for advancing career. The RMS gives a good overview of research philosophy and design, and it teaches how to transform an everyday problem into a research topic suitable for scientific investigation. The participants are then taught how to conduct research via qualitative or quantitative methods, by using techniques, learning skills, and utilizing software. Also, the opportunity to meet classmates from all over the world and learn from their experiences and backgrounds makes the RMS even more beneficial and diverse. As a DBA candidate, I can now conduct my research with rigor to achieve my goal and obtain the degree, thanks to the RMS!”

The Research Methods and Skills program is offered both on campus (12 weeks, starting from mid-September to early December of every year) and blended (i.e. online videos, handouts, moderated online forum discussions, feedback on assignments per email and Skype sessions).
