MSM commended at AMBA 50th Anniversary Gala

At the 50th Anniversary Golden Awards and Gala Dinner of the Association of MBAs, held in the Savoy in London on 20 January 2017, and attended by around 250 guests from all around the world, a special honor befell Maastricht School of Management (MSM).

The school received a special commendation as runner up for the AMBA Innovation Award 2017. Taking 2nd place, among top business schools nominated, reflects the educational leadership of the school in its sector. The other nominated schools that were beat to this honor by MSM were Oxford University’s Said Business School, Bath University School of Management, and the Open University Business School.

MSM also made history by becoming the first business school in the Netherlands to have been a finalist for the sought-after AMBA innovation award. In 2014 it was also nominated, and earned third place.

MSM was represented by Prof. Wim Naude (dean), Prof. Josette Dijkhuizen, whose projects on entrepreneurship and empowerment, including refugee entrepreneurs, were a key reason for the nomination; and Ms. Amy Wang, strategic advisor in the Dean’s office, who works to galvanize innovation projects at MSM (see photo).
