About the Model European Parliament
The Model European Parliament (MEP) 2017 is an international conference organized for the youth (age 16-18) and by the youth (age 18-25). The conference took place in the heart of Europe, in the Dutch provinces of Gelderland and Limburg. In these regions, bordering respectively Germany and Belgium, people benefit from European and Euregional cooperation every day. The program consisted of debates in parliamentary committees in Arnhem, and lobbying for proposals and amendments on the go and vote on their final resolutions during the General Assembly in Maastricht. The students also visited Brussels for a dialogue with Members of European Parliament on the kind of Europe that they would like to live in over the next 25 years.
