Newsletter #5/2020

Introduction

With a new academic year just around the corner, this newsletter looks back on a fruitful summer term during which MSM continued its research, training and education activities with students and partners. Due to public safety guidelines related to COVID-19, it was in a virtual learning environment that we offered our summer specialization courses, research summer school and the third executive MBA module in July. As you will read, our participants appreciated our lecturers’ efforts to make their online teaching as engaging and effective as possible, and the various guest lectures and group assignments.

This newsletter also highlights three prestigious multi-year capacity-building and entrepreneurship projects that our trainers will soon start running in the Sahel region, Sudan and Kenya, respectively. Please check the specific news items for more details on each project.

We look forward to our annual Graduation Ceremony on 18 September 2020, during which our students will receive their highly deserved degree. Within the framework of the Covid-19 measures we will organize a festive and memorable event for our students. For those of you who cannot attend the ceremony in person, rest assured, as the event will be live-streamed online.

We hope to be able to welcome you soon in Maastricht, but in the meantime, we warmly invite you to follow our recruitment officer Inka Diddens on a cheerful virtual tour of some of the most beautiful spots of our city.
