Newsletter #4/2023

Introduction

In this final newsletter of 2023, we close off the year with outstanding news! The Maastricht University and its MBA programmes were able to maintain the leading position in the 2023 Better World MBA ranking. This shows our commitment to infusing the notion of sustainable development into our MBA course content

We are also proud to issue a Call for Papers to address the rapidly changing world of work, driven by technological advancements, such as digitalisation, robotisation and AI. The Call for papers "The Future of Work: Challenges and Opportunities in a Disrupted World", is available in the events section below.

The last few weeks we welcomed many international participants for our Short Executive Programmes. Below you can read how participants of the Small Business Development in Emerging Economies, Strategic Leadership and Project Management programme benefitted from the lessons learned during the programme. Don't forget to take a look at all the short programmes coming up next year!

In this newsletter, we also highlight some of the capacity development projects that are carried out by MSM's Expert Centre on Emerging Economies. MSM started a new project aimed at achieving vocational excellence in Ghana, contributed to female entrepreneurship development in Algeria and launched the industry-academia platform ‘iTATU’ in Kenya to boost innovation and productivity within the country’s private sector.

With the recruitment for our residential programmes in full swing, we are being visible through fairs, webinars, and blog posts about our programmes and lecturers. You can rewatch the webinars on our Youtube channel, and look at some of the blog posts in this newsletter as well.

For now, we are closing off our first year as part of the Maastricht University School of Business and Economics, a year of operations in a turbulent world, an intensive and challenging, but rewarding year.

On behalf of the whole MSM organisation I would like to wish you happy holidays and a prosperous & healthy 2024! We look forward to another successful year and will keep you updated about MSM’s achievements in 2024.

Best wishes,

Meinhard Gans
Director
