Friday seminar at SPRU, University of Sussex

MSM Dean Professor Wim Naudé recently gave a lecture on technological innovation and entrepreneurship at the Friday Seminar Series of the Science Policy Research Unit (SPRU) at the University of Sussex. The University of Sussex is one of the UK’s leading research universities, and SPRU is internationally recognised as a leading centre of research on science, technology and innovation policy. Indeed a 2012 study in Research Policy ranked SPRU second only to Harvard University in terms of its research impact on innovation studies.

In his lecture, given on 15 December 2017, Professor Naudé outlined a number of reasons for the steady decline over the past three decades of the innovativeness and entrepreneurial vibrancy of Germany, and concluded that these declines help explain why German labor productivity growth has slowed down and German income inequality is at record heights.
