China Baowu Steel group corporation delegation concludes three month training program at MSM

Since 15 years MSM and Baosteel Group Corporation – now part of China Baowu Steel Group Corporation – form a unique partnership in which MSM has been providing specially designed training for middle and top managers of the group.

A group of eight representatives, including directors and senior managers recently completed a 3-month training program at MSM in Maastricht, which was carefully designed to cater their specific training needs.

The group was trained in topics like Managing Cultural Diversity, Global Corporate Strategy, Global Supply Chain Management, Corporate Finance and Leadership & Change Management. Additionally they went on a company visit to the Digital Capability Center (DCC) in Aachen (Germany), a new kind of learning factory focusing on Industry 4.0. At DCC in Aachen the group had a presentation about the DCC Story and Industry 4.0 followed by a tour on DCC’s model factory floor where the production line of a smart wristband is simulated.

During a closing dinner held on 13 December, each participant received their MSM certificate from Oliver Olson, Director Global Education Programs at MSM.

China Baowu Steel Group Corporation was formed after a merger of Baosteel Group and Wuhan Iron and Steel (Group) Corporation in 2016 and is widely recognized as the largest steel producer in China. Its crude steel production hit 63.81 million tons in 2016, ranking it the second largest steelmaker in the world.
