Meet MSM's staff members: introducing Harpreet Singh

At MSM we are proud of the more than 40 staff members who are committed and eager to fulfill our mission in offering management and entrepreneurship education, advice and research to individuals and organizations from all over the world. To become more acquainted with our staff members and to show you how it feels for them working at MSM we will each month highlight one of our staff members. This month the spotlight will be on Harpreet Singh.

Let me introduce myself…
My name is Harpreet Singh (Belgium) and I am working as Research Program Officer at MSM. I am responsible for coordinating the running intakes of MSM’s DBA program in Egypt (RITI) and Kuwait (HRD). Additionally I am partly responsible for the admission and recruitment activities related to MSM’s Research Methods & Skills (RMS).

I hold a master degree in healthcare policy, innovation and management and a bachelor degree in European Public Health both from the Maastricht University (NL). During my bachelor studies, I had the opportunity to join one semester at the University of Sheffield (UK). And for my master thesis I have completed an internship at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine in London (UK). Before joining MSM, I held the position of teaching assistant at the Maastricht University for the Health Services Research department. In addition to teaching, I was also involved in various research projects.

Working at MSM has really fulfilled my dream…
I always wanted to work in an international environment, so it felt like a perfect match when I joined MSM in 2017. It truly motivates me to work and engage with brilliant and experienced people with different cultures and backgrounds. This international setting is quite unique…so, working at MSM has really fulfilled my dream!

As a Research Program Officer I work with students at a daily basis and it gives me a lot of energy to be part of their journey. Our students come from all over the world and the age gap between them and me is not that big. This enables me to put myself in their shoes to better understand their needs. I am also looking forward welcoming the new batch of participants who will join our annual Research Summer School programs in June and July.

So in case you are interested to join our research summer school program you know where to find me…
These Research Summer School programs are especially developed for researchers and practitioners from around the world to learn with and from each other. Together with my colleagues I am responsible for the admission and recruitment activities. So in case you are interested to join one of these research summer school programs…you know where to find me :)

In my spare time you can often find me…
Working on old cars! Besides this I also like to spend time in my garden. Cultivating vegetables and flowers in my garden really gives me A peaceful feeling. Having a peaceful mind set leads to better functioning at work.

I find Barack Obama really charismatic with strong leadership skills…
I am so thankful to live in a world which is growing and changing every day. There are so many influential people in the world who have done (and still do) amazing things for our world. One of these persons is Barack Obama. He is really charismatic with strong leadership skills. Listening to his speeches and discussions always brings an added value to my knowledge.
