Introduction
The year 2023 got off to a inspiring and busy start! Together with two other Dutch universities, MSM published the Dutch national SDG Barometer. The SDG Barometer provides important insights into the adoption and implementation of the SDGs by Dutch organisations, and at the same time, it is a call to action to all organisations to deliver on the SDGs.
In the first months of 2023, we welcomed many international students in Maastricht for three of our Short Executive Programmes. Have a look at the news items to read how the participants experienced the Small Business Development for Emerging Economies, Value Chain Analysis and Corporate Social Responsibility programme. And don't forget to have a look at the upcoming deadlines for our other Short Executive Programmes below.
It was also great to welcome 58 MBA students from our partner in Kuwait. During their stay in Maastricht the students followed their expertise track in International Business, Banking and Finance, or Retail Management. The residential Master in Management and full-time MBA students also continued with their curriculum. In this newsletter, the participants share their insights of the Global Supply Chain Management and Marketing Management modules. One of our alumni shared her story with us on how she launched an impactful career after graduating from the MSM MBA.
In addition, we give you an update of two of our many capacity building projects. An important regional workshop was held in Niamey, Niger, and we delivered a workshop on Grant Proposal Writing as part of the SEAD-West project in Rwanda.
Unfortunately amidst of these highlights, we received very sad news. Dr. Mohi Badr suddenly passed away while he was in Maastricht as a participant of the short executive course Small Agribusiness Development. Our hearts go out to Dr. Badr's family and we wish them strength and courage to bear this painful loss.
