Introduction
The year 2024 got off to a busy start! A new book was published on private sector development in emerging economies, written by three of our MSM colleagues. MSM also issued a Call for Papers to address the rapidly changing world of work, driven by technological advancements, and is organising an online Academic Conference on 23 May 2024. The Call for Papers is open until 8 April 2024 and the link to register for the conference can be found in this newsletter!
In the first months of 2024, we welcomed many international students for four of our Short Executive Programmes. Value Chain Analysis for Business Development and Local Value Addition, Women Entrepreneurship Policy, Gender Equality and Women Empowerment as well as Digital Transformation were the first programmes to be given this year. For the months to come, many other Short Executive Programmes are scheduled to take place, so don't forget to look at the upcoming deadlines below.
In January, we launched our first intake of the Global Flex Online MBA, with a diverse class of 17 students consisting of 12 different nationalities. In an upcoming newsletter, you can expect to hear more about their experiences. The Master in Management and Full-time MBA students are continuing with their curriculum, and are heading into the SDG challenge and company visits. In this newsletter, you can read all about how they have experienced their classes so far.
Additionally, our Expert Centre on Emerging Economies has not been sitting still either. MSM has been actively participating in projects in Rwanda and Burundi, focusing on important topics such as inclusive private sector development and vocational excellence in the climate-smart agricultural sector.
Best wishes,
Meinhard Gans
