A sneak peek in the life of Master in Management alumnus Simon Watermann
Why did you decide to pursue the Master in Management?
After completing my Bachelor's degree, I aimed to deepen my understanding of business in order to better prepare for my professional career. The Master in Management program provided a comprehensive curriculum covering several key business disciplines, closely aligned with my interests and future career goals.
Why did you decide to pursue a Master in Management at Maastricht School of Management?
I chose to pursue my Master in Management at MSM because I liked the possibility to learn more about business in an internationally focused environment. Additionally, Maastricht itself is a great city to live in while studying.
Looking back on my time at MSM...
I'm really grateful and honored to have had this incredible opportunity, which helped me grow both personally and academically. Studying alongside colleagues who became close friends made my year at MSM in Maastricht truly unforgettable.
How do you feel your Master in Management at MSM has helped you to prepare for your career?
The Master in Management program emphasized the value of international collaboration, sharpened my presentation skills and offered practical training through the Career and Personal Development Track (CPDT) and CV workshops, which all supported my following job search and career development.
Are there any specific skills or lessons learned during your time as a student that you find particularly valuable in your professional or personal life?
During my time at MSM, I had the opportunity to strengthened my analytical, self-organisation and self-presentation skills. I also fondly remember several engaging class discussions and innovative group projects, through which I learned the value and advantages of working in diverse teams. These skills and experiences continue to support me in both my current job and personal life.
My goal for the future..
My goal for the future is to keep learning and growing in my current role, while also exploring new places in the world and enjoying quality time with friends and family.
My advice to current and future Master in Management students?
Stay curious and open to new learning opportunities, while finding a healthy balance between studying and enjoying life at MSM and in Maastricht.
