Greening Ethiopia: Launching a Climate-Responsive Higher Education Initiative
From 27 until 29 January the Greening Ethiopia project officially kicked off during the opening of the project in Addis Ababa.
Greening Ethiopia is a four-year initiative that strengthens the role of Ethiopian universities as key drivers of the country’s green transition. The project supports the integration of sustainability into higher education policy, university operations, research and teaching, with a strong focus on sustainable agriculture and renewable energy. Through policy reform, course updating, staff training, interdisciplinary research, regional innovation platforms and inclusive community outreach, Greening Ethiopia aims to build a future-ready higher education system that supports Ethiopia’s green economy and long-term sustainable development.
