Newsletter #7/2020

Introduction

As 2020 comes to a close, we can reflect on what has been a most unusual year for all of us. At Maastricht School of Management, the safety measures related to the COVID-19 pandemic posed unprecedented challenges for our students, faculty and staff, but we are now feeling stronger about our capacity for resilience, endurance and innovation.

We successfully managed the transition to online education and capacity-building training activities and were recognized again as Top Business School in the 2020 Eduniversal Best Business School ranking. Despite the delays caused by the pandemic, we were able to carry on our development work abroad and to achieve significant milestones in our long-term projects in Uganda, Indonesia and Jordan. November saw the first edition of a new initiative, High Level Talks, that brought together leaders of the public sector and higher education to discuss the future of education in a world marked by rapid and acute change. The event took place online, just as our executive programs.

The New Year is bringing us the hope to overcome the COVID-19 virus, and we look forward to welcoming our new students in the January intakes of the Master in Management, full-time MBA and Executive MBA programs.

The Maastricht School of Management team wishes you a restful holiday and a happy, healthy and safe 2021!

Meinhard Gans
Chief Executive Officer
