Global Supply Chain Management: critical for sustainable business success

“Global Supply Chain Management is essential for companies that want to be competitive in their markets. The module provided me with a great opportunity to learn about matching customer values, lowering costs and reducing risks through supply chain flexibility.”

This is how current full-time MBA student Louise Frietas from Brazil described her experience of the Global Supply Chain Management module. “I was always very curious about the supply chain strategies. The intersection between the theoretical content and how to apply this, combined with the class discussions, was very valuable to me.

The module proved the students that having a great strategy is not enough. It needs to be supported by great execution. Only this way the strategy will deliver consistently on the promises made to customers.
In a world that is becoming more and more volatile and therefore less and less predictable, superior supply chain execution becomes increasingly critical for sustainable business success.

The Global Supply Chain Management module highlighted
concepts, models and methods that are important for the design, control, operation, and management of global supply chains in a dynamic world. The course introduced frameworks and approaches that cannot only be used to describe and analyse supply chain strategies but that also provide guidelines for the actual business operations. The focus was on supply chain integration. In relation to this, cross-functional and cross-business alignment were dealt with.

For Louise the interaction with the lecturer and fellow classmates is also of great importance. “Since we started the online classes, each opportunity to share knowledge with my classmates is unique. We are a group which focuses on establishing a mutual learning experience and our aim is to grow together.
