Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation and Director General for Foreign Economic Relations visit MSM
On 21 March MSM welcomed Director General for Foreign Economic Relations, Mr. Simon Smits, for an acquaintance meeting that will be followed-up by a visit of the Dutch Minister of Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation, Ms. Lilianne Ploumen, on 2 April.
During this work visit the Minister will be introduced to the international world of MSM that has recently been nominated as a finalist for the Nuffic Orange Carpet Award for its contribution to the internationalization of higher education in the Netherlands.
After a short word of welcome by MSM Chairman René van der Linden, MSM Dean-Director Prof.dr. Wim Naudé will give a general introduction to Maastricht School of Management. Prof. dr. Aad van Mourik, Director Education will illustrate MSM’s internationally accredited MBA program.
Together with Prof. dr. Philip Vergauwen, Dean of the School of Business and Economics at Maastricht University, Prof. Naudé will present their shared vision on the future of MSM within the UM.
In attendance of the MSM international students Minister Ploumen will take the floor. She will hold a speech on the international trade policy in the Netherlands and will also discuss the role of Limburg companies thereby. After the speech, a Q & A session will take place in which the students have the opportunity to pose questions to the Minister.

Mayor of Maastricht Onno Hoes, and deputies Bert Kersten and Twan Beurskens will attend the Minister’s visit, as well as the 59 students from our full-time MBA program in Maastricht, 33 students from our international MBA program that we offer in collaboration with CENTRUM Católica Business School in Peru and 31 students from the joint MSM/ADA Executive MBA program in Azerbaijan.
