Managing change is a challenge in all parts of the world

This year’s CM program welcomed 12 participants from Australia, the Far East, the Middle East, Africa and South America. This interesting variety of cultures gave the class a special energy and team spirit.

The three-week course Management of Change for organizational transition (CM) prepares participants to design effective change programs and to develop the personal management skills to successfully lead change processes in their organization.

In order to get an idea of participant’s thoughts about the change process in their organization, MSM sent an inquiry before the start of the program. The answers made clear that all participants had experienced some degree of frustration with the change process. The valuable information provided by the participants was shared with the lecturers and experts involved in the program and served as input for the learning experience.

During the three-week program the participants paid a work visit to the European Head office of Sabic in Sittard where they were given an excellent presentation on how the company was managing change from a traditional to a paperless organization with the Flex4all concept. It was a great real-life example demonstrating the importance of thorough preparation before the start of the change process to ensure the support from all parties involved.

Participants worked intensively and with enthusiasm on the integrating assignment, in which the lessons learned from the lectures, workshops and real-life cases were incorporated. This resulted in an excellent presentation of change management proposals for four organizations.

The participants all expressed great appreciation for the practical way the change process was presented and the hospitality with which MSM received them!
