Innovation in the Palestinian agricultural sector

From May 8 – 11, MSM organized a benchmarking work visit on innovation and knowledge transfer in the agricultural sector for the Director of the National Agricultural Research Centre of Palestine (NARC) and one of his senior staff members. This was part of a Nuffic funded training program aiming to strengthen the capacities of NARC.

The specific purpose of the visit was to get input for the Palestinian plan to set-up a new national center focusing on agricultural technology transfer. The delegation, facilitated by MSM expert Mr. Huub Mudde, paid a visit to the Ministry of Economic Affairs where they received up to date information on how the Dutch government is supporting innovation and business in the agricultural sector.

Subsequently, the delegation participated in the Global Forum for Innovations in Agriculture, visited the Poultry Innovation Lab in Barendrecht and the Plant Science Group of Wageningen University.
