Introduction

First of all, we are looking back at a number of successful events over the past few weeks. Still fresh in our memory is the Graduation Ceremony of the various MBA and MM programmes. It was an alluring event engaging a considerable group of graduates and attended by many family members and stakeholders. You can see the most memorable moments of the day in the compilation video below.

A few days later we welcomed 59 students into the 2024 intake of the Master in Management and Full-time MBA. During their first two weeks, they have embarked on a fun and informative Introduction programme. We wish all our new students a successful and enjoyable journey through their studies at MSM.

Just before the summer break, we successfully organised another pressure cooker event, the MBA Summer School. This year’s edition involved 186 MBA students engaging in eight different MBA expertise tracks. Also, late June, a team of MSM academics and representatives from the School of Business and Economics (SBE), The Research Centre for Education and the Labour Market (ROA) and Brightlands attended a research symposium organised by our partner Nanjing University.

In September we welcomed 44 students from the Indian Institute of Management Lucknow for a custom programme on Sustainability Management. The students enjoyed a two-week international immersion programme at MSM, as part of their MBA.

Within our capacity building projects, we also celebrated many highlights. MSM's Expert Centre on Emerging Economies has been granted a project in Burundi to empower Burundians with Digital and Entrepreneurial Skills. In addition, MSM will lead a project in Tanzania in building inclusive centres of vocational excellence for skills and employment development in the climate-smart agriculture sector. MSM also hosted a roundtable discussion in Karongi centered around The Service Training and Innovation Centre (STIC) concept in agri-tourism, an innovative approach developed under the OKP SEAD West project led by MSM. For more project highlights, have a look at the below items or visit our website.

We are looking forward to working towards the end of 2024 in collaboration with all our partners, here in Maastricht, The Netherlands and abroad!
