MsM author listed for Management Book of the Year 2014
The Dutch translation of the book What Makes A High Performance Organization: Five Validated Factors That Apply Worldwide (Hoe bouw je een High Performance Organisatie?) by Dr. André A. de Waal, Associate Professor Strategic Management at MsM and Director of the HPO Center, has made the longlist for Management Book of the Year 2014 in the Netherlands.
Dr. de Waal’s latest book is the result of a ten year research project conducted by the Maastricht School of Management and the HPO Center in 1,470 organizations over 50 countries and examines the success factors of sustainable high performance.
The book offers managers and organizations a valuable HPO Framework to help them identify the characteristics of high performance and to stay better for a long period of time.
The HPO Framework differs considerably from previous frameworks on high performance as it is grounded in validated scientific research and has been validated in many case studies around the world. The academic and practical research and the case studies of organizations all over the world described in the book show that organizations using the HPO Framework are performing better than ever before.
The HPO Center and Maastricht School of Management are currently setting up a three-day executive program around the book, to offer managers the opportunity to learn how to apply the five factors of high performance in their organizations in order to achieve sustainable high performance. Upon completion of the program, participants will be equipped with the knowledge to start the HPO transition in their organizations.
The first executive course on HPO is expected to run for the first time in June in Maastricht and to be followed by two additional intakes in Hannover and Shanghai in the fall of 2014.
