MSM #1 again in Top Business Schools Ranking

MSM is proud to maintain its #1 place in the Top Business Schools Internationally Known category according to the latest Eduniversal Ranking. MSM was awarded 4 Palmes, in the ranking for the Netherlands and Western Europe.

The 2014 Eduniversal Business Schools ranking was released on 22 October at the gala dinner and award ceremony of the 7th Eduniversal World Convention in Istanbul, Turkey. This was the occasion to announce the rankings for the Best 1,000 Business Schools in 154 countries and to reward the Top 28 Business Schools in 9 geographical zones.

Eduniversal Palmes: five levels of excellence
The Eduniversal system rates schools according to their international reputation at national and global levels, and by geographical zone. After their selection, the schools are divided within each country into five levels of excellence, defined as Palmes of Excellence. This horizontal comparison within nine geographical zones makes the Eduniversal ranking different from most other international ranking systems, which use a vertical comparison. The Eduniversal Ranking System does not compare, for example, schools in one country to another country. Rather, it simply ranks the best schools within each country and within each Palme league:

  • 5 Palmes: Universal Business Schools with major international influence
  • 4 Palmes: Top Business Schools internationally known
  • 3 Palmes: Excellent Business Schools nationally strong and/or with continental links
  • 2 Palmes: Good Business Schools with regional influence
  • 1 Palme: Local references with great local influence

A Palme level is awarded to each school based on a set of internationalization criteria:

These schools are then ranked within each Palme level according to the assessment made by peers: the Deans’ Vote.

The Deans’ Vote
Deans and Directors from the top 1,000 business schools worldwide are each asked to vote for other academic institutions; this vote is converted into a ‘recommendation rate’ that students and other actors in the academic field can use to compare and assess academic institutions.
