Strengthening cooperation with the agricultural university of Bogor, Indonesia
On 30 and 31 October 2017, a high-level delegation of IPB, the national agricultural university of Indonesia, visited MSM to explore further institutional cooperation. The new IPB Centre on Sustainable Science will be the anchor for multi-disciplinary research and executive education.
The cooperation builds on the successful partnership of MSM and IPB over the last decade with sustainable business development and entrepreneurship as the common denominators of MSM’s contributions to IPB. Noteworthy is that in the meantime 83 students graduated at IPB’s Business School with the MBA specialization on sustainable business development that has been set-up with support of MSM in 2009.
The most recent cooperation is on animal logistics. MSM, together with Wageningen University and the Aeres Group of agricultural education institutes, is supporting IPB in setting-up new educational programs on animal logistics. Within the remaining project year, the priority will be on joint research and sustaining the multi-stakeholder platform that has been set-up. The international Steering Committee, gathered at MSM on October 31, expressed their satisfaction with the results achieved. Dr Anas Miftah Fauzi, Vice Rector of IPB for Research and International Cooperation, stressed that the project is in the midst of the national priorities. On request of the Indonesian President Jokowi himself, IPB will put more emphasis on education and research in agro logistics.
