Welcome into the New Year: new opportunities, new business, new partners

Many of us start a new calendar year adopting a resolution or two. At MsM our New Year resolution is simply to want to make sure that all our students, program participants, faculty and staff and stakeholders learn something new about themselves and about management in 2014. In other words, we want to be a catalyst for personal development and flourishing.  True to this aim we started 2014 with proverbial fireworks as our dynamic full-time MBA cohort confronted (and entertained) an audience consisting of local and national business leaders, mentors, alumni and staff with their personal experiences, insights and dreams. They did so using the intriguing PechaKucha framework where one only gets 20 slides with 20 seconds for each slide, to make a presentation. Challenging. The Dean fortunately could sit back and enjoy the creativity of the students. Nevertheless if he was asked to present 20 slides on the plans of MsM for the New Year, what would he have presented? My wild guess is that he would have presented 20 slides on 20 things that will make MsM great and even greater in 2014: students, staff and faculty, partners,  Maastricht, Limburg, the UM, research, projects, education management, water management, entrepreneurship, Brussels, Germany, emerging economies, energy MBA, accreditations and rankings, alumni, executive programs, SBE, MEUSE….

What does this all mean? To find out, continue reading this newsletter and the newsletters that will follow each month in 2014. Better still, become part of the MsM-family and be part of all of this as it happens. See you soon in Maastricht,

Dean Director
